Entries due Monday, March 20 at midnight

Show runs April 7-30

Juried by Dana Cain

Who doesn’t love animals? Whether they’re funny, heartwarming, strange, or twisted, we love animals and the crazy things they do. And we’d love to see art that shows all the different sides of the animals you love.

Animal Crackers is open to all mediums, including painting, photography, mixed media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, 3D, and drawing. This show will be juried by Dana Cain, famous for her myriad of amazing events in Denver including the Cat Festival and the Denver County Fair. She is also an avid animal lover and long-time supporter of the Denver art scene.

Artists may submit multiple pieces — $30 for three entries, $10 for each additional entry. All work submitted must be for sale.

A photo gallery of accepted pieces will be posted online and a link will be emailed to the artists by Friday, March 24. Art must be delivered to Kanon on Sunday, March 26 between 12-4 p.m. All pieces must be completely dry and ready to hang (with proper hanging wire or D-rings – no sawtooth hangers) and all pieces need to be labeled with the artist’s name and title. Sculptures need to be able to fit on a standard 12″ pedestal. In case of multiple pieces, please include a diagram if they are to be hung in a specific order and we will do our best to accommodate this. The show will open on Friday, April 7, and run through Sunday, April 30. We will be open from 5-9:30 pm all Friday nights that the show runs.

All artwork must be picked up on Sunday, April 30, between 2-5 p.m. Please email us if you need to make other arrangements. Kanon takes no responsibility for work that is left at the gallery after May 13. You will be given a receipt for each piece submitted and may have someone else bring that receipt to the gallery to pick your work up for you.

Kanon will charge a 30% commission, plus tax, on all work sold. Kanon accepts all major credit cards as well as checks. Payment for work will be available 30 days after the show. Artists are welcome to come and pick up their checks, or they can be mailed to you.

Accepted art may be photographed for emails, our website, and other publicity pieces.

Application Instructions:
Please make all entry payments through PayPal and then email your images to info@kanonart.com (use this email for PayPal as well). The entry fees are $30 for the first 3 entries and then $10 for each additional entry. All image files need to be jpeg or png and 1920 pixels square (add a black background for rectangular images). Please try to keep image files at 2MB or less in file size.

Please label each image file with your name, title, and the size of your piece (i.e. JaneSmith_Title_12x12.jpg). This is very important as we need to know who each image belongs to and how big the pieces are.

This information — especially the size — is also important in deciding how many pieces we can accept so please be sure to do this. If sending multiple entries, please limit total file size for each email to 10 MB.Thanks and please let us know if you have any questions. Please be sure to use the same email for both your PayPal payment and your image submission.
