BIBELOT 2023 Call for Entries

Bibelot: from the French word meaning a small object of curiosity, beauty, or rarity.

Our Juror this year is Eric Matleski.

Entry deadline: Sunday, November 19 at midnight!

Show opens on First Friday, December 1, 6-9:30 pm

The 2023 Bibelot show, as always, will feature the beauty of small works. Pieces must be no larger than 12×12″, and we encourage multiple small pieces by the same artist. Artists may submit multiple pieces — $20 for four entries, $5 for each additional. Because this show focuses on providing affordable artwork for the holiday season, all work submitted must be for sale.

A photo gallery will be posted online and a link will be emailed to the artists by Friday, November 24 to show what pieces were accepted for the show. Art must be delivered to our gallery on Sunday, November 26 between 12-4 pm. The show will open on Friday, December 1 and run through December 31.

All pieces must be completely dry and ready to hang – with proper hanging wire or D-rings. If your piece is on a canvas or wood panel, it must have some sort of hanging device. All pieces need to be labeled on the back (or bottom) with the artist’s name and the title. Sculptures need to be able to fit on a standard 12″ pedestal. In most cases, multiple pieces will be hung vertically – please include a diagram if they are to be hung in a specific order and we will do our best to accommodate this.

All artwork must be picked up on Sunday, Dec. 31 12-5 p.m. If you can’t make it that day, please email us if you need to make other arrangements. You will be given a receipt for each piece submitted and may have someone else bring that receipt to the gallery to pick your work up for you. Kanon takes no responsibility for work that is left at the gallery after January 31, 2024.

Kanon will charge a 30% commission on all work sold. Kanon accepts all major credit cards as well as checks. Checks for sold artwork will be available at the gallery the first week of January. If you need your check mailed, just contact us and we’re happy to do that.

Accepted art may be photographed for emails, our website, and other publicity pieces.

Application Instructions:
All images should be 1920 pixels square (add a black background for rectangular images) and files need to be less than 2 MB each.

Please label each image file with your name, title, and the size of your piece
(i.e. JaneSmith_Title_12x12.jpg). This is very important as we will receive many images and having them labeled properly makes the task of reviewing them much easier.

Also, this information — especially the size — is important in deciding how many pieces we can accept so please be sure to include it. If sending multiple entries, please limit total file size for each email to 10 MB. Also, when you submit your entries, please include the following information for each piece (it will be used to create the tags for the accepted pieces):

Title
Your Name
Medium
Price
