New works by Eric Myles Jones
Opening reception: Friday, August 7, 6-9:00 pm
Eric started painting Apocalyptic Cows nearly 15 years ago, after an encounter with the “Black Cow of Death” on a dark icy road. Since then, he has been waiting to find the appropriate time to show them. No time like the present!
The somewhat allegoric cattle led to paintings of regular cattle, and then the chickens came (and the foxes, the fish, the horses, etc.) This show includes old and new work of cows and other animals, most never before shown.
Eric is a new member and this is his first solo at Kanon. Working primarily in acrylic paints, he focuses on portraying the modern American West. Eric grew up in rural Colorado where he spent a lot of time on farms and ranches. Eric has won multiple awards and has had work added to corporate and college collections. He received a BS from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, UT, where he studied Communications and Art.
