February may be the month of true love for some, but at Kanon we wanted artists to explore the darker side of love and art. The show explores broken hearts, sensuality, defective anatomy, gothic love, obsession, anti-love, fantasy — you name it.
The artists: Jessy Bergeman, Amy Brokaw, CypherX, Susan Dillon, Jane Glotzer, Jen Starling, Eric Myles Jones, Trevor Leach, Meredith Lindgren, Dave Ludwig, Phylicia Mann, Terra Marks, Melody Sealman, Melissa Shawnee, and Arlo White.
“Dark Heart” was juried by Denver power couple, Merhia Weise and Andrew Novick. Merhia is an artist and works in community engagement for Meow Wolf, and Andrew has been a fixture in the Denver art and music scene for many decades, usually with involving whatever new and twisted food concoction he has created.
