The 2017 Bibelot show, as always, will feature the beauty of small works. Pieces must be no larger than 14” wide, and we encourage multiple small pieces by the same artist. Artists may submit multiple pieces — $20 for three entries, $5 for each additional. Because this show is focusing on providing affordable artwork for the holiday season, all work submitted must be for sale.
A photo gallery will be posted online and a link will be emailed to the artists by Sunday, November 26 to show what pieces were accepted for the show. Art must be delivered on Tuesday, November 28 between 4-6:00 pm. If you can’t make that time, contact us and we will work with you.
All pieces must be completely dry and ready to hang – with proper hanging wire or D-rings and no sawtooth hangers. If your piece is on a wood panel, it must have some sort of hanging device. All pieces need to be labeled on the back (or bottom) with the artist’s name and title. Sculptures need to be able to fit on a standard 12″ pedestal. In most cases, multiple pieces will be hung vertically – please include a diagram if they are to be hung in a specific order and we will do our best to accommodate this. The show will open on First Friday, December 1, and run through Sunday, December 24. There will be a First Friday reception (December 1, 5-10 p.m.) as well as a Third Friday Collector’s Reception (December 15 from 5-9:00 p.m.). We would like as many artists as possible to attend the Third Friday reception so that people have a chance to speak to you about your work. The Third Friday reception is when we will give out the award for Best in Show.
All artwork must be picked up on Wednesday, December 27, between 4-6 p.m. Please email us if you need to make other arrangements. The gallery will be closed for a couple of weeks after the show so if you can’t pick up your work on the 27th, you will need to contact us for a time. You will be given a receipt for each piece submitted and may have someone else bring that receipt to the gallery to pick your work up for you. Kanon takes no responsibility for work that is left at the gallery after January 15.
Kanon will charge a 30% commission on all work sold. Kanon accepts all major credit cards as well as checks. Payment for work will be available 30 days after the show. Artists are welcome to come and pick up their checks, or they can be mailed to you.
Accepted art may be photographed for emails, our website, and other publicity pieces.
Please make all entry payments through PayPal and then email your images to firstname.lastname@example.org (use this email for PayPal as well). The entry fees are $20 for the first three entries and then $5 for each additional entry. You can use the button below to add items to your cart, or just do it manually through Paypal. All images should be 1920 pixels square (add a black background for rectangular images) and files need to be less than 2 MB each.
Please label each image file with your name, title, and the size of your piece
This information — especially the size — is important in deciding how many pieces we can accept so please be sure to do this. If sending multiple entries, please limit total file size for each email to 10 MB.
