The pace of life is set by the technology that serves it. We are presented with a complex array of compensations and distractions from toil and mediocrity, often in the form of passive entertainment. Mores associated with mass media can contribute to unclear boundaries between someone else’s imagination and one’s own life. In the Age of the Individual we engage in a collective preoccupation with the insatiable pursuit of entertainment as a criterion for existence. We are all on both sides of the camera. There are millions of moments that exist out there, when we happen to look.
