KELSEY WEIRICK

Kelsey is currently studying Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD), just across the street from Kanon Collective, and enjoys spending her time in the beautiful Colorado terrain or exploring creative expression.

What began as just wanting to share the beautiful views she found on hikes through photography, turned into a great passion and she enjoys exploring different locations for the next shot. Kelsey’s paintings tend to have a lot of variety stylistically, but her greatest enjoyment comes from painting landscapes and exploring the human condition through other design types. Her favorite medium is oil paint because it feels like the scene is actively being sculpted.

“When I paint, I’m reaching out into the void, hoping to connect to other people’s inner children that were silenced as well. From ships that bear the weather of our minds, to the hopeless and morose nights, I hope to break through the superficial introductions. With art we reach directly into the depths and truly connect our hearts past their ruffage, past the walls. A safe place for us to just feel, to know ourselves as one within the collective.”
