The artists’ reception and the presentation of the Best in Show prize will be on Third Friday, August 15, 5-9 pm. Phil Bender will join us that evening and present the prizes.
This month we are featuring our Metropolis show, which was juried by Phil Bender. Metropolis is a show about the beauty of the city — from the shiny to the grimy, from architecture to graffiti. Neon signs, painted dumpsters, abandoned buildings, watchful gargoyles — these are the reasons we live in urban areas. Cities are often portrayed as dirty and overcrowded, but artists capture the beauty in all things. The artists in this show include: Neil Bigley, Dane “Colfax” Stephenson, Maeve Leslie, Mariah Baumgartle, Connie Espinosa, Doug Kacena, Ken Crost, Jill Mustoffa, Ana Maria Botero, Diane Aspinwall, Mellie Moss, Jane Glotzer, Paulina Roybal, and Stephanie Andres.
