“8 Bit” featuring new works by Kym Bloom

Opening Reception: Friday, September 6, 5-10pm
Artist’s Reception: Friday, September 20, 5-9pm

“Sometime limitations produce the best ideas. I love the video games from the eighties because the limitations of the technology meant that people weren’t able to fashion characters in full 3-D with every color of the rainbow — they were limited to 8-bit graphics and still managed to create some of the best-loved and most memorable characters that defined my generation. There’s a certain innocence to these characters in their simplicity, and re-creating them in candy only magnifies that. And it happily combines two of my favorite childhood loves.”

All of these pieces are created on wood with acrylic paint and candy, and are coated in several layers of resin.
