Brian Wall is typically known for his abstract oil paintings, but in his new show The Art of Amusing, he has gone back to basics with an exciting new series of black and white drawings. The drawings are inspired by his early experiences in art, but are executed with the whimsical style, detail, and imaginative symbolism that have become hallmarks of his work. In this series of twelve drawings, he reimagines a wide variety of subjects both literal and figurative, including the physical landscapes and horizons of Colorado, methods of communication, and the sense of home and belonging and love. His new drawings, along with three new more experimental paintings, will be on display at Kanon Collective during the month of June.
