Bibelot: from the French word meaning a small object of curiosity, beauty, or rarity.

This show will be juried by Kanon members Kym Bloom and Michael Vacchiano.

The 2011 Bibelot show will feature the beauty of small works. Pieces must be no larger than 16” wide, and we encourage multiple small pieces by the same artist. Artists may submit multiple pieces — $10 for each entry, with a discount for 3 or more — as well as diptychs and triptychs. Because this show is focusing on providing affordable artwork for the holiday season, all work submitted must be for sale.

All entries are due by midnight, Saturday, November 19.

A photo gallery will be posted online and a link will be emailed to the artists to show what pieces were accepted for the show. Art must be delivered either Friday, November 25, between 12-5 p.m. or November 26, 12-5 p.m., and must be completely dry and ready to hang, with proper hanging wire or D-Rings – no sawtooth hangers. In most cases, multiple pieces will be hung vertically – please include a diagram if they are to be hung in a specific order and we will do our best to accommodate this.If you need to drop it off outside of business hours, please email info@kanonart.com to make arrangements. The show will open on First Friday, December 2, and run through Saturday, December 31. There will be a First Friday reception (December 2, 5-10 p.m.) as well as a Third Friday Collector’s Reception (December 16 from 5-9:00 p.m.). We would like as many artists as possible to attend the receptions so that people have a chance to speak to you about your work.

All artwork must be picked up Wednesday, January 4, between 12-6 p.m. Please email us if you need to make other arrangements. We reserve the right to charge storage fees ($5 per week) for work not picked up in a timely manner. Kanon takes no responsibility for work that is left at the gallery after January 14. You will be given a receipt for each piece submitted and may have someone else bring that receipt to the gallery to pick your work up for you.

Kanon will charge a 30% commission, plus tax, on all work sold. Kanon accepts all major credit cards as well as checks. Payment for work will be available 30 days after the show. Artists are welcome to come and pick up their checks, or they can be mailed.

Accepted art may be photographed for emails, our website and other publicity pieces.
